16 states are suing the Trump administration over last week's national emergency, arguing that the move is unconstitutional, with the states seeking a preliminary injunction to stop President Donald Trump from acting until the case is resolved.
California is leading the charge, with the other 15 states all having Democratic Attorneys General. Maryland is the only state without a Democratic governor.
The suit has been filed in the liberal 9th circuit, where judges have already ruled against the president.
