Wakulla County Becomes 'Second Amendment Sanctuary'

Jordan Kirkland ()                  The Florida Report ()          November 19th, 2019

In a 5-0 vote, Wakulla County became the second county in the state of Florida to declare itself a "Second Amendment sanctuary."

On Monday, commissioners voted unanimously in favor of the resolution, strengthening gun rights and rejecting calls for gun control.  The move means law enforcement will not have to use resources to enforce gun control laws.

Commissioner Ralph Thomas, who brought forth the resolution, said that Monday's vote reaffirms the oath to the Constitution, and protects responsible gun owners from those who seek to infringe on their Second Amendment rights.
